Morganite is the pink to peach variety of beryl colored primarily by manganese. It forms hexagonal prisms in nature and is commonly cut into large pastel gems with gentle pleochroism.
Look for pastel peach‑pink color, RI around 1.58 with low birefringence, SG near 2.72, weak–moderate pleochroism, and absence of perfect basal cleavage that characterizes topaz.
