Rhodonite
mineral · uncommon
Quick facts
Polished massive piece with vitreous luster, conspicuous bright planar reflections suggesting perfect cleavage, and subtranslucent areas; strong pink‑to‑red color last. Rhodonite is a manganese silicate that carves well and can appear as uniform pink‑red without black veining, but its perfect cleavage and lower hardness separate it from garnet.
